Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC), Enrollee Records
The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) provided employment and vocational training for unemployed youths and, to a lesser extent, for war veterans and Native Americans, through conservation and natural resources development work, and beginning in May 1940, defense work on military reservations and forest protection.
To search the Enrollee files on the Catalog, find the appropriate Reel Number from the below listings. On the Catalog entry for Individual Records (Enrollees), enter "Reel X" in the search bar where X is the reel to be searched (be sure to use quotes). Scroll through the images until the enrollee is located; the files are arranged alphabetically.
Other government agencies were connected with the CCC. If a file cannot be located on the Catalog, there may be a folder with another agency. To request further searches, complete and return the CCC Order Form. Please indicate that an online search has been conducted and was negative.
Additionally, if the search was successful, many Enrollees have Medical and Clinical records which have not been digitized yet. To request searches of these series, complete and return the CCC Order Form. Indicate Medical and Clinical on the form and if possible, include the enrollee's Serial Number. If additional records are located, there will be an associated digitization fee applied.
